Engaging People Who Use Drugs  By the end of this course, you’ll have a foundation in understanding the harm reduction approach, how stigma impacts access and engagement in services, and practical strategies you can adopt to promote effective communication with people who use drugs. First we’ll explore the context where people may be using drugs and why, then we’ll discuss harm reduction strategies to reduce risk associated with drug use. Lastly, we’ll put your skills to the test by reviewing a few scenarios with providers and identifying how to improve communication and engagement.
